Installing your range cooker

When you ask Pegrum Ltd to install a new or pre-owned range cooker you have the option of choosing from a simple install or for us to provide all the necessary plumbing and building works.

Using just one company for all the work makes the process a lot easier for you.

A normal installation procedure of a range cooker would be as follows:

  1. Home survey meeting to discuss the services you require from your range cooker and how it fits in your kitchen.
  2. Delivery of your range cooker either direct from your local store or by Pegrum Ltd on the day of installation.
  3. Prepare the area for installation, building a plinth or supplying a steel base unit.
  4. Assembly of the range cooker and set up to manufacturer’s settings.
  5. Connection to fuel supply and flue.
  6. Introduction to range cooker functions.

If all services and flues are in place this could take approximately 1 day. In addition to a basic installation Pegrum Ltd can:

  1. Tile the surrounding area.
  2. Build a mantle.
  3. Erect a new kit form chimney.
  4. Fit fuel supplies and tanks.
  5. Attach any other heating or hot water fittings and supplies.
  6. Carry out the alcove building work.

Depending on the nature of the work, this can take from a week upwards.

Removing your range cooker

Pegrum Ltd can easily dismantle your range cooker and take it away or re-locate it to your new house for a fee.

If you are re-locating with your range cooker this would be a ideal opportunity to refurbish your range cooker. More information about can be found on our Refurbishment page.

If your new house has a different type of fuel we can convert most range cookers to function with the new fuel. More information can be found on our Fuel conversions page.
