Should I turn my cooker off in the summer?

It is entirely up to you and really depends whether you have alternative means of cooking. If your range cooker heats your hot water then it is advisable to leave it on to keep the water hot and on tap, unless it is too warm in the kitchen.

How do I re-light my range cooker?

This is the most commonly asked question after the summer has ended! Re-lighting instructions should be found on the inside of your range cooker burner door. We can provide a list of instructions for re-lighting an oil burning range. If you have any problems please check on the manufacturer's websites (see below) for more information. Aga and Rayburn instructions can be found on their website.

My range cooker won’t come up to temperature or it reaches the correct temperature and stops. What should I do?

Check the temperature guage is reading correctly and ensure your cooker has enough fuel. Refer to the operating instructions for further information. If the problem persists contact us for help. It is likely that your range cooker needs a service, please contact us for an appointment and remember to get your range cooker serviced regularly to prevent carbon build-up.

My gas fired range cooker will not start or has gone off. Why is this?

Ignition failure is normally due to failure of an ignition wire or thermocouple. DO NOT attempt to re-start your range cooker or use it. Contact us to book a call out.

How often should I have my Range cooker serviced?

Between 6 and 12 months depending on the type of cooker fuel and burner. Pegrum Ltd and Heating will send you a reminder before a service is due. More information can be found on our servicing section.

Help! There is water coming out of the front of my range cooker what should I do?

Shut down the cooker and isolate the water supply. The boiler may be leaking due to corrosion. DO NOT use your range cooker, please contact us.

Where can I get recipes and cookbooks for my range cooker?
